Recently, we received notification that Ryan/Sawyer Marketing was selected as a winner in the 36th annual Telly Awards. The Telly is the premier award honoring local and regional TV commercials and programs. We won the award for the commercial we produced for Colorado Canyons Hospital & Medical Center, a service of Family Health West in Fruita. It’s kind of a big deal.
As I pondered the latest addition to our trophy case it came to me that the dozen or so awards we’ve garnered over the years all came only through a strong collaborate effort. As an agency, we never work in a vacuum. Our best work—our award-winning work—has always come through strategic and creative collaboration with our clients, staff and creative partners.
This award belongs to our own Julie Hober who, as Account Manager, does a mind boggling job of juggling the Family Health West account. It belongs to Family Health West Marketing Director Angelina Salazar, who wears too many hats to mention. It belongs to CEO Mark Francis and Executive Assistant Barbara McKee who took the time to not just indulge our creative process but actively engage in it. And it belongs to the good folks at Hoptocopter Films who earned both our respect and friendship.
All of these people contributed to a whole that is much, much greater than the sum of its parts. The best thing about doing really cool creative work is not so much the end result, but the process of doing the work itself, with cool people who get what that means. Like most things in life, it’s not about the stuff; it’s about the relationships you develop when making the stuff. And, ultimately, that’s the greatest reward.
